Clearly Whimsy Stamps Christmas 2014 release - Sneak Peek Day 1

Hi everyone and welcome to the first sneak peek day of the
Clearly Whimsy Stamps October 2014 release

Over the next 3 days we will reveal our CHRISTMAS Clearly Whimsy Stamps release! We are releasing 7 new clear stamp sets and 5 coordinating die/die sets this week, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store TODAY and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday!!

PENGUIN FUN is 4x6" stamp set that includes: 5 penguins, 3 head accessories (hat, ear muffs, & antlers), 2 sentiments, 1 snow flurry, and 2 different pairs of "eyes".   When I was designing this set, I wanted the penguins to be able to have lots of different expressions, and so I decided to make the eyes of all the penguins empty so that you can add the pupils stamp or the closed-eye stamp yourself.  Now your penguins can look up, down, left, right, forward, with closed eyes, or even with crazy eyes, lol!

The companion Penguin Fun die set cuts out all 5 of the penguins, plus the hat, ear muffs and antlers.  You will see that the antler die has an piece at the bottom which is additional to the matching stamp.  I designed it like this so you can attach the antlers to the back of the penguin die cut easily, but still be able to stamp the antlers above the penguin when you are only stamping and not die-cutting.

TREMENDOUS TRIANGLES is another 4x6" stamp set and includes: 4 large triangles, 4 medium triangles, 6 small triangles, 2 tiny triangles, 2 stars, 2 tree trunks and a tiny circular bauble.  The triangles can be used to build trees or be used on their own to create geometric patterns.  This set is a very versatile, all-year set that you will reach for time and time again.

And here is the companion Tremendous Triangles die set to go with the stamp set:

So now we’ve shown you the first day of peeks, it’s time to check out what our amazing Design Team has created with these new products. Don’t forget to leave a comment at every stop along the hop to be entered into the draw to win a $15 gift certificate.

Warm Wishes

Happy Thursday everyone!!  Only one more day to the weekend:)  It's my turn, Shelby, to provide a little bit of inspiration heading into the weekend.  I hope everyone has checked out the fabulous October release.  Loved all of the new gorgeousness that hit the store!

I adore this new stamp from Art by Miran called Warm Wishes.  It's so versatile...can be Fall themed, Christmas, Winter and anything in between.  The die cut is called Christmas Tree and the sentiment is from a new set called Simple Holidays.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you find time to craft and create!

Penguins Hang a Wreath

Hi Everyone! It's Shannah here today to share some Whimsy Inspiration with you!

For this card I used the absolutely adorable new image by Crissy Armstrong called 'Penguins Hang a Wreath'. Oh my goodness I love Crissy's sweet images... they just make me smile! :)

The sentiment is from the 'Winter Wonderland' set by Simonne Clay, and I have also used 'Elegant Notables 1',  'Notables 1' and 'Layered Snowflake' dies. All of these products are available at the Whimsy Stamps store.

The image was stamped twice with Memento ink, and coloured with Copic markers. I then fussy cut the penguins and wreath section from one image, and double mounted it onto the other complete image for extra dimension. I finished with Stickles for some sparkly snow.

You can see more details on my Blog;  Embellished ExpresShan's.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Penny pumpkin Princess

Hi Louise here today with a card I made using
I have coloured the image with copics and kept the card design simple
I did had a little white pen for highlights on the image too

The sentiment is from a set called
and I think this will become a firm favourite of mine
Bye for now
Louise

Design Team Call!

Do you love to color?
Do you have a passion for Whimsy Stamps?
...
Then we could be looking for YOU!

We would love to add some new full-time designers to our Whimsy Stamps rubber & die design team from January 2015.

This is an open call for anyone from anywhere to join our Whimsy Stamps design team! We welcome applications from all skills levels and all styles of crafting, but you must have excellent coloring skills and be able to provide high quality photographs of your work.

This call will remain open until midnight (ET) on Friday November 7th, 2014

*******************

TO APPLY:

- Please create a brand new card just for this DT call using your favourite Whimsy Stamps stamp.   Although we would love you to use our images for your application card, we also don't want to prevent any of you who may have only just found us from applying.  Therefore, if you don't own any Whimsy Stamps goodies, we will accept applications using different images.

- Take a good quality photograph of your card and post it on your blog along with an accompanying post telling us why you'd like to be part of the Whimsy Stamps DT.  Then link up your application blog post in the linky at the end of this post. (Please ensure you add a link to your application post and not just a general link to your blog, as this will be removed).   If you have used a Whimsy Stamps image for your card, remember to include links to the store.

- If you have one or 2 past creations that you are particularly proud of and that you *really* want to show us, you may add them to your post along with your application card, but please do not add more than 2 additional cards.  Please make sure that your application card is new and has been created for this DT call.

*******************

We are looking for several full-time DT members to join the Whimsy family.  You will need to have a blog in order to showcase your DT work, and you will need to be able to commit to posting one Whimsy Stamps creation per week (2 during our new release weeks).  We welcome all styles of crafting, and you will see that our DT sometimes create cards using sentiments or dies as the focal point.  We love being able to showcase these additional products, but please note that our main focus is rubber stamps and so we are looking for excellent colorists.  We also need our DT members to be reliable and to be able to meet deadlines, as well as being a present and friendly member of the team.

You will receive a generous selection of rubber stamps and dies from each monthly release, together with a fantastic DT discount (valid on all products in the Whimsy Stamps store).  Your work will be showcased on the Whimsy Stamps blog, challenge blog, Whimsy Stamps company facebook page and in the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations facebook fan group.  Additionally, we are sometimes able to give our DT members the opportunity to create projects for magazines.

IMPORTANT - You must be willing and able to work with images from ALL the different Whimsy artists, so please ensure you consider this carefully before making your application.

Please feel free to share this badge on your blog and/or social media.

Finally, we welcome applications for everyone, including past DT members and guests!

We can't wait to receive your application!

Good luck!

Christmas Scene

Happy Thursday!
Ellie here today, my turn to share a Whimsy creation with you. If you have followed our blog hop on Monday, then you might remember seeing it.

I did recreate it as I wanted to show you a few photos of how I made it, in case anyone wanted to know.

Here is a photo before I started with the masks in place (moon and snow on bottom).

With these masks in place I simply dragged my ink pads over the paper to create the sky. It helps taping it down so it doesn't move while you do this, also turn the paper upside down - this helps so you don't get too much dark ink on the bottom portion.

As you can  see above, I started inking the sky, but then I remembered that it helped to have the cityscape in place before inking the sky, so I heat embossed the city using black distress ink and clear embossing powder before continuing with the sky.

I added just a little bit of yellow to this sky (I had too much of it on my first card), and also decided to add a little bit of a purple shade.

The masks are  now removed . I stamped santa and his sleigh and used another mask to create some "snow".

Here is the finished card again.

Products used:
Christmas Scene Builder by Whimsy Stamps
Distress inks (faded jeans, broken china, victorian velvet,
mustard seed, black soot)
masks (torn paper for snow, circle punch for moon)
washi tape, sequins, yellow copic

Thanks so much for stopping by! And don't forget about our October Release blog hop. You still have until 12noon ET tomorrow (Friday) to hop along, if you didn't already.
